The Travel Agency is the first recreational dispensary brand in NYC that opened three stores over the past two years, one in Union Square, 5th Avenue, Flatbush, adn Soho. The overall lighting approach enhances each store’s spatial character by embedding itself within the architecture; emanating or “leaking” from reveals, gaps, and openings that are pushed, peeled, or pulled from the surfaces and geometries of the space. Light sources are concealed from view, with only their resultant wall wash of light left as evidence of its presence in the space. Product cases (which were designed as well as fabricated by the lighting designer) and immersive rooms at the back of each store are color-customizable to allow for saturated, curated experiences.
